Thor's Day on Freya's Day?

Just a little "in process" split shot to show some painted and un-painted metal. I used to HATE coloring and painting metal...now I've painted so much of it, that I really enjoy it :) Enjoy!

I AM....

...Iron Man! I never quite know what's okay to post from our Hi-Fi work for Disney Publishing Worldwide, but I figure that there are enough of these Iron Man books out, that sharing a turn isn't going to to hurt. Can't wait to see the new movie!

Sponge

Just trying to be more productive....sooo...tired. Painter, CS6. ~5 hours. Done for fun for tomorrow's West Michigan Creative Congress in Grand Rapids. The theme this month is: Sponge. Bed!

Study 001

Image
Trying to do more studies to work on materials and textures that I usually don't get an opportunity to color or paint. This was supposed to be a leather study, but it turned into a metal one instead :) Took longer than I'd care to admit (2 hours-ish), but my focus was split between this and staring into space.

Color cloud doodle while the daughter took a short nap. Better than twiddling my thumbs for 30 minutes :) I love clouds. They make me happy. Except when they poo lightening while in a boat...poorly drawn.

Spidey stickers

Image
A couple pages of art that I colored. I think they were used as stickers...I'm not sure I haven't seen them myself. But Andy Smith, who did the line work, posted his originals, so I though it would be safe to share.  THWIP!

Grand Rapids Comic-Con

I'll be one of the featured guests at the inaugural Grand Rapids Comic Con on October 12th! There's a FRONT PAGE article that just hit print in the Grand Rapids Business Journal. "... and five to six nationally renowned comic book artists or creators who have worked with DC Comics, Marvel Comics and other national publishers, including Jon Alderink , Chris Yambar, and Allen Bellman, the artist who drew “Captain America” during the 1940s. Details can be found at grcomiccon.com and facebook.com/grandrapidscomiccon." Here's the link: http://www.grbj.com/articles/76120-first-comic-con-has-modest-goals As my 2-year old would say, "So excited!"

Oh, YOU!

This started out as a silly doodle. It turned into a silly 2 hour painting. Had a blast just messing around while taking a break from work for the Holidays. I got a Lenovo X230T for Christmas and wanted to play for a while. I did 80% of the work on the new laptop and finished it on my Cintiq. Shewp! -Jon
